As we all know, Chiranjeevi‘s 150th film is all set to release on January 11, 2017. Khaidi no 150, is special as it marks the comeback of the Tollywood star to the big screen after 9 years. We are super excited! But just when we thought, things could not get any better, there’s another grand news. According to reports on IANS, Allu Arjun will be part of this film as well. It will be a brief appearance, but nonetheless, Allu Arjun will be seen in Khaidi no 150. Turns out, the star expressed his keenness to be part of this special project and Chiranjeevi Garu couldn’t refuse. “He wanted to be part of the milestone film in some way or the other and I was happy about it,” Reportedly he will be seen in the beginning titles of the film. How awesome is this?! Khaidi no 150 is the Telugu remake of Tamil movie Kaththi, but the Telugu version has been tweaked to suit the Telugu audience and fit in the superstar’s image. So get ready for lots of masala, songs and drama. Chiranjeevi and Kajal will debut as an on screen pair with this film. When the first stills of the two came out, fans took a liking to them. Now we are waiting to see if this pair will click at the box office. The film will also mark Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan’s debut into production. The film has been directed by VV Vinmayak.
At the grand pre-release function Chiranjeevi revealed why he chose to remake Kaththi – “I was hunting for the best story to make a comeback. While there were several good stories, I was looking for something phenomenal and that’s when A.R. Murugadoss’ Kaththi came our way. And at that time, Vijay himself came forward and told me that if I wanted to remake the film, he’d make sure we get the film rights. It was a very touching gesture and I am thankful to him for bringing this film to me.” And the rest is as we know it.
Apart from Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi no 150, another Telugu superstar’s 100th project will hit theatres on 12th January. We are talking about Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni. But there’s no sign of any clash between them, in fact, they are hoping both films become a hit.
